Translation
Avada Cookie Consent supports multiple languages to help you serve a global audience. You can configure the default language, set up automatic language detection, and add extra languages with AI-powered translation.
Default Language
The cookie banner comes with built-in support for the following default languages:
- English
- German
- Italian
- French
You can select your store's primary language from this list. The banner text, buttons, and preference popup will all display in the selected language.

Detecting Language
Avada Cookie Consent can automatically detect your visitor's preferred language using one of two methods:
| Method | Description |
|---|---|
| Browser Language | Detects the language set in the visitor's browser settings |
| Customer IP | Detects the visitor's location via IP address and shows the corresponding language |
Browser language detection is generally more accurate for individual preferences, while IP-based detection works better for region-specific compliance messages.
Adding Extra Languages
You can add additional languages beyond the four defaults.
Add New Language
Navigate to the Translation section and click Add new to start adding a new language.

Choose Language
Select the language you want to add from the dropdown list. The list includes all commonly used languages.

Translate Content
Choose your translation method:
- AI Translate — Automatically translate all banner text using AI. This provides a quick starting point that you can refine later.
- Manual Translation — Enter translations manually for each text field (consent message, button labels, preference categories, etc.).

Confirm Translation
Review the translated content to ensure accuracy. Make any necessary adjustments to the auto-generated translations.

Save
Click Save to add the new language. It will now be available for automatic detection or manual selection.

Edit or Remove Languages
To edit an existing language translation, click on the language in the list and modify the text fields as needed. To remove a language, click the Delete button next to the language entry.
Removing a language means visitors who speak that language will see the banner in your default language instead.
