# Downloading drafts

Download draft order documents as PDF files to your computer. Save quotes and invoices for your records, share them via other channels, or archive them for accounting purposes.

## Why This Matters

* Keep local copies of quotes and draft invoices
* Share PDFs through channels other than email
* Archive draft documents for record-keeping
* Attach draft invoices to other systems or emails

## How It Works

When you click the download icon, the app generates a PDF using your selected template and saves it directly to your computer. The file downloads to your browser's default download location. For bulk downloads, all selected drafts combine into a single PDF file.

## Download a Single Draft Order

#### Go to Draft Orders

Navigate to **Draft Orders** in the sidebar and find the draft you want to download.

#### Click the download icon

Click the **download icon** (arrow) in the Actions column for that draft order.

#### File saves automatically

The PDF downloads to your browser's default location. The filename includes the draft order number for easy identification.

## Bulk Download

Download multiple draft orders as a single combined PDF.

#### Select draft orders

Check the boxes next to each draft you want to download. Use **Shift+click** to select a range.

#### Click Download

In the bulk action bar that appears, click **Download**.

#### Combined PDF downloads

The combined PDF downloads automatically. Each draft order appears on separate pages within the file.

## Download from Detail Page

You can also download from the draft order detail page.

#### Open the draft order

Click on a draft order row to open its detail page.

#### Click Download

Click **Download** in the page actions (top-right corner).

#### PDF downloads

The PDF downloads using your default template. This method is useful when you're already viewing a draft order's details.

## Download from Print Page

For more control over templates, use the print page.

#### Open the print page

Click the **printer icon** on any draft order to open the print page.

#### Select template and language

On the print page, select your template(s) and language from the options on the right.

#### Preview the PDF

Review the PDF preview to ensure it looks correct before downloading.

#### Click Download

Click **Download** to save the file. This method is useful when you want to choose a specific template or preview before saving.

## Limits & Plan Notes

| Plan      | Draft Order Downloads |
| --------- | --------------------- |
| Free      | Not available         |
| Pro       | Unlimited             |
| Ultimate  | Unlimited             |
| Wholesale | Unlimited             |

Draft order downloads require a Pro plan or higher (Pro, Ultimate, or Wholesale). Free plan users can only download regular order documents.

## Common Questions & Issues

<summary>The download doesn't start.</summary>

Your browser may be blocking the download. Check for a blocked download notification in your browser. Some browsers require you to allow downloads from the site. You can also try using the print page and clicking **Download** from there.

<summary>I can't find the downloaded file.</summary>

Check your browser's download folder (usually `Downloads` on your computer). You can also check your browser's download history to see where the file was saved. The filename includes the draft order number.

<summary>The PDF shows the wrong template.</summary>

The download icon uses your default template. To use a different template, click the **printer icon** instead, select your preferred template on the print page, then click **Download**.

<summary>Can I download drafts as separate files instead of one combined PDF?</summary>

Bulk download combines all selected drafts into one file. To get separate files, download each draft order individually using the download icon on each row.
