# Managing drafts

Find and manage all your Shopify draft orders in one place. Search by order number or customer, filter by status or date, and view detailed information for any draft.

## Why This Matters

* Quickly locate specific draft orders among hundreds
* Track which drafts have invoices or quotes sent
* Monitor draft order status before they expire
* Access draft details without leaving the app

## How It Works

The Draft Orders page syncs with your Shopify store and displays all draft orders. Each row shows key information at a glance. Click any row to view full details, or use the action icons to print or download directly from the list.

### Table Columns

| Column      | Description                                      |
| ----------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| Draft order | Order name (e.g., #D139) - click to view details |
| PO number   | Purchase order number if assigned                |
| Date        | Last updated date                                |
| Customer    | Customer name with expandable details            |
| Total       | Order total amount                               |
| Status      | Current status badge                             |
| Actions     | Print and Download icons                         |

### Row Actions

Each draft order row has two action icons:

* **Print** (printer icon): Opens the print page for this draft
* **Download** (arrow icon): Downloads the PDF directly

To send a draft order via email, open the detail page and use the **Send quote** button.

### Status Tabs

Quick-filter tabs appear above the table:

* **All**: Show all draft orders
* **Opened and invoice sent**: Drafts that are open or have invoices sent
* **Opened and quote sent**: Drafts that are open or have quotes sent
* Individual status tabs: Opened, Invoice sent, Quote sent, Completed

## Search for a Draft Order

Use the search box at the top of the page to find drafts by:

* Draft order number (e.g., `#D139`)
* Customer name
* Customer email

The list updates automatically as you type.

## Filter Draft Orders

Click **Filter** above the table to narrow your list:

Click **Clear** to reset all filters.

## Sort Draft Orders

Use the Sort dropdown above the table to reorder the list.

### Open the Sort menu

Click the **Sort** dropdown above the table.

### Choose a sort option

Select one of the options:

* Draft order: Oldest first
* Draft order: Newest first
* Price: Low to high
* Price: High to low

The list reorders immediately based on your selection.

## View Draft Order Details

Click any row to open the detail page showing:

* **Customer info**: Name, email, phone, addresses
* **Line items**: Products, quantities, prices
* **Pricing**: Subtotal, discounts, taxes, shipping, total

**Page actions** (top-right): **Edit** (opens Shopify Admin), **Print**, **Download**

**Send quote** button appears in the Payment section for non-completed drafts.

## Common Questions & Issues

<summary>I can't find a draft order I'm looking for.</summary>

First, check if you have any filters applied. Click **Clear** to reset all filters and show the full list. Then try searching by the draft order number or customer email. If the draft was just created in Shopify, wait a few seconds and refresh the page for the sync to complete.

<summary>A draft order shows as expired. Can I still use it?</summary>

Draft orders expire 30 days after creation. Once expired, the customer can no longer use the checkout link to pay. You can still view the draft and print documents from it, but to collect payment you'll need to create a new draft order in Shopify.

<summary>The status doesn't match what I expected.</summary>

Status syncs from Shopify. If you sent an invoice through Shopify directly (not through this app), the status may not reflect that. The app tracks documents sent through its own email feature.

<summary>How do I create a new draft order?</summary>

Draft orders are created in Shopify Admin, not in this app. Go to **Shopify Admin > Orders > Drafts > Create draft order**. Once created, it will appear in this app automatically.
