Internal link
Automatically build internal links across your store so every page gets discovered and ranked.
Who can use this feature?
This feature is available for Pro users.
Overview
This feature helps you build internal links across your store automatically. It scans all pages to identify which ones lack internal links, generates relevant anchor texts using AI, and suggests where to insert links - so Google can crawl your store more effectively and distribute link equity across all pages.

Why internal links matter
Internal links connect your store's pages together. When Google crawls your site, it follows links to discover and index pages. Pages without any internal links (orphan pages) are harder for Google to find and tend to rank lower.
Good internal linking also helps customers navigate between related products, collections, and content - keeping them on your store longer and increasing the chance of a purchase.
How it works
The feature works in three stages:
Scan: The app crawls your store to count incoming and outgoing internal links for every page
Set anchor texts: Enter anchor text manually for each page, or use AI to generate them automatically
Suggest & approve links: The app matches anchor texts against content on other pages to find natural insertion points, then presents suggestions for you to review and approve
How to use
Set anchor texts
In the Automatic internal linking section, under Anchor text, check how many pages are missing anchor text. You have two options:
Enter manually - Click on any page in the resource table and type in your own anchor text

Generate with AI - Click Generate missing anchors to let AI create anchor texts automatically (1 credit per page)

Browse your pages
Use the resource table to see the full picture for each page:
Title
Page name with thumbnail
Anchor text
The anchor text assigned to this page
Incoming links
Number of internal links pointing to this page
Outgoing links
Number of internal links from this page to other pages
Suggestions
Number of pending link suggestions

Best practices
Start with a scan - Always scan first to get an accurate picture of your store's current internal linking status
Review AI-generated anchor texts - AI generates relevant anchors, but review them to ensure they match your brand voice and target keywords
Don't approve blindly - Check suggestions before approving, especially for important pages like your homepage or best-selling products
Focus on orphan pages first - Pages with zero incoming links benefit the most from internal linking
Keep it natural - A few relevant internal links per page are better than stuffing links everywhere. Over-linking can look spammy to both Google and customers
Re-scan periodically - As you add new products or content, scan again to keep your internal linking up to date
FAQs
What does the internal linking feature do?
It scans your entire store to find pages missing internal links, then uses AI to generate anchor texts and suggest where to insert links between related pages. This improves your store's SEO by helping Google crawl and index all pages effectively.
Why do I need to set anchor texts first?
Anchor text is the clickable text that appears in a link. Google uses anchor text to understand what the linked page is about. Without anchor text set, the app cannot generate link suggestions. You can enter it manually or use AI to generate it automatically.
How are internal link suggestions generated?
After anchor texts are set, the app analyzes the content of all pages in your store to find suitable places to insert links. It matches the context between source and target pages to ensure suggestions are topically relevant. You can review each suggestion individually or approve all at once.
Will the app automatically change my content?
No. The app only suggests internal links — you must review and approve them before any changes are made to your content. You have full control: accept, reject, or modify each suggestion.
Can this feature harm my SEO if I add too many links?
Adding too many irrelevant links to a single page can be seen as spam by Google. However, the app is designed to suggest links based on content relevance, which helps avoid over-linking. We recommend reviewing suggestions and only approving links that are genuinely relevant to the page content.
