llms.txt
The concise index of your store — a short, curated map AI assistants read first.
llms.txt is served at yourstore.com/llms.txt. It lists your store name, a summary, and your key products, collections, blog posts, and policies as links with short notes — small and easy for an AI assistant like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, or DeepSeek to parse.
Where to find it
In Avada AEO optimizer, open agent.md and llms.txt and select the llms.txt tab. Click the URL (e.g. https://yourstore.com/llms.txt) to view the live file generated for your store.
Before AI can read it: your storefront password must be off. If it's on, click Disable password in the Password protection enabled banner.
Custom llms.txt
By default, llms.txt is generated for you and stays in sync with your store. To override it with your own instructions, turn on Custom llms.txt, then click Edit.
- Custom overrides the auto-generated file with your own content.
- Click Sync anytime to refresh the file from your store and return to the auto-generated version.
Editing your llms.txt
Clicking Edit opens the editor with an Editor view and a Markdown view side by side. It has two areas:
- Your store content (headers, intros, descriptions) is fully editable — write it however you like.
- The list of product, collection, and page URLs is greyed out — it's auto-generated from your store and keeps updating on its own. Hover it and you'll see: "This part is auto-generated. Manage it in the URL Manager."
Because the URL list is locked in the editor, editing your file no longer turns it into a static file — new products keep flowing in automatically. To add or remove URLs, use the URL Manager (include or exclude specific URLs) instead of editing them here.

Choose the content types, fields, and languages — and which AI assistants may read your files — under Settings.

- Faster pre-sales support. Customers get clear answers on product fit, returns, and delivery — without waiting for a human.
