Setting up a subscription is essential for merchants who want to offer their customers flexible recurring purchase options. This guide will walk you through the process of creating a subscription for your products using Joy Subscription.
Creating a subscription involves configuring two key aspects: Subscription Plans and Widget Settings. Subscription plans define the frequency, renewal day, and discount for each subscription, while widget settings determine how the subscription option appears on your product pages.
Without setting these up, your subscription options will not be available for customers to select on your store.
Step 1: Open the Joy Subscription app from your Shopify admin dashboard.
Step 2: Select Subscription Products and click Choose Product. From there, select the product you want to create a subscription for.
Step 3: Once you are taken to the subscription page, you need to complete two primary configurations:
Subscription Plans:
Set rules for each subscription, such as delivery frequency, subscription renewal day, and discount values.
Add or remove subscription options.
Configure advanced settings such as Minimum Required Number of Orders and Maximum Allowed Number of Orders.

To set up 'Discount' rules for a Subscription, you will configure coupon rules for each subscription of a product. Specifically, follow these steps:
Enable the discount toggle.
Set the discount value for the selected subscription.
You can also enable the 'change discount after X orders' feature to set a specific and clear discount value based on the number of orders the customer places when subscribing.
A product can have multiple subscription options. You can add different subscriptions based on varying discount levels or subscription cycles. To add a subscription, simply select "add subscription plan."
Tip: You can create two subscriptions for a single product, such as one subscription for delivery every 2 months and another for delivery every month. Set a higher discount value for the 1-month delivery subscription to encourage customers to purchase and use the product more frequently.
To delete a subscription, select delete in the subscription management section.
Joy Subscription has a feature that allows you to Import existing plans, meaning you can apply the subscription rules of an existing product in your store to a new product.
