Connect ChatGPT or Claude to Avada Withdrawal Form

AI Access lets Claude or ChatGPT read your withdrawal form settings, request counts and app status, and change those form settings for you without opening the app.

You decide two things when you turn it on: which groups of data the assistant may work with, and whether it may only look, or also change things.

Prerequisites

  • Avada Withdrawal Form installed on your store.
  • A Claude or ChatGPT account on a plan that supports custom connectors. See the table below.
AssistantWhat you needLimit to know
ClaudeA paid plan is recommendedThe Free plan allows only one custom connector in total. Each Avada app needs its own connector.
ChatGPTDeveloper mode, available on Pro, Plus, Business, Enterprise and EducationThe Free plan has no Developer mode, so it cannot be connected.

Step 1: Open AI Access

In your Shopify admin, open Avada Withdrawal Form and select Integrations in the app menu, then select the AI Access card.

Open the AI Access card from the Integrations page

Step 2: Read what is shared

Step 1 on the page explains what leaves the app and what never leaves it. Select Show what is shared and never shared to open both lists.

Show what is shared and never shared

For Avada Withdrawal Form:

Can be sharedNever shared
Withdrawal form settings, including labels, colors, visible fields, and button placementIndividual withdrawal requests, customer identities, emails, order details, and request notes
Aggregate withdrawal request counts grouped by status or dayMerchant notification settings and all customer or resolved reply-to addresses
Current plan, install date, and whether Withdrawal Forms is runningShopify credentials, private tokens, and internal secrets

What your customers write in the form stays inside the app. A connection can count the requests you have received, but it cannot open one and read what is in it.

The blocked list is enforced inside the app. There is no setting, no plan and no way of phrasing a question that opens it, and giving a connection full access does not open it either.

Tick I have read the data sharing notice to continue. The button in Step 2 stays disabled until you do.

Step 3: Turn on AI Access

Select Turn on. A window opens where you choose what your assistant may do.

Choose the access level and the data scope

Access level. Nothing is selected in advance, so this is always a deliberate choice.

Access levelWhat the assistant can do
Read-only accessView the data groups you tick. It cannot change anything in the app.
Full accessView those groups and change the settings inside them, where a group allows changes. Changes take effect immediately.

Data scope. Avada Withdrawal Form has three data groups. Tick at least one, or the window will not let you continue.

Data groupWhat it coversCan it be changed
Withdrawal form settingsWhat your withdrawal form and storefront widget look like: labels, colors, visible fields, and where the button appears.Yes, with Full access
Withdrawal request statisticsHow many withdrawal requests you have, grouped by status or by day. Numbers only, never individual requests. No, read-only
App statusYour current plan, when the app was installed, and whether Withdrawal Forms is running. No, read-only

Only the first group can be changed. Withdrawal request statistics and App status stay read-only even when you choose Full access.

Always included. Every connection also carries one ability you cannot turn off, listed in the window under Always included as What this connector cannot answer. It lets the assistant read the list of topics it has no access to, so it tells you plainly that the topic is out of reach instead of guessing an answer.

Topic the connector cannot answerWhy
Withdrawal request contentsIndividual requests contain customer names, emails, order details, and free-text notes. Only aggregate counts are available.
Protected email settingsMerchant notifications and customer or resolved reply-to addresses are never read or changed.
Customer personal dataNames, emails, addresses, order details, and request notes are never shared.
Store access credentialsShopify and Avada credentials never leave Avada.

Full access has no approval step. The assistant does not send you a suggestion to review. It calls the app and the setting changes at that moment. Revoking the connection later stops further changes, but the settings it already changed keep their new values until you change them back yourself.

Select Turn on. AI Access is on and your connection is created in one action.

Step 4: Copy your server URL

Select Open in Step 3 of the page to open your connection.

Open your connection

Under Step 2: Copy your connection details, select the copy button next to Server URL.

Copy the server URL

This URL belongs to this connection in this app. Avada Withdrawal Form has its own URL, and so does every other Avada app.

Step 5: Generate an API key

You only need this for the command line and desktop clients. Claude and ChatGPT on the web ask you to approve access instead, so they do not use a key.

Select Generate API key, then use the eye button to reveal it and the copy button to copy it.

Generate and copy the API key

Treat the key like a password. Anyone who has it can reach the data groups you opened, at the access level you chose.

Step 6: Connect your assistant

Open Step 3: Set up in your AI assistant and pick the tab for the assistant you use. Each tab has three ways to connect.

ChatGPT on the web and mobile

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Security and login, and switch on Developer mode.
  2. Open Plugins, select Browse plugins, then select Add new.
  3. Enter a name, keep Connection set to Server URL, then paste the server URL into the connection field.
  4. Tick I understand and want to continue, select Create, then select Allow when Avada asks you to approve access.
  5. Open a new chat and add the connection from the tools menu.

Claude on the web and mobile

  1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Select Add custom connector, paste the server URL, then select Add.
  3. On the connector screen, select Connect, then select Allow when Avada asks you to approve access.
  4. Open a new chat and add the connection from the tools menu.

Connect from Claude on the web

Codex, ChatGPT Desktop, Claude Code and Claude Desktop

These clients sign in with the API key instead of asking you to approve access in the browser. Each tab shows a ready-made command or configuration block with a copy button. Paste your own key where the command says YOUR_API_KEY.

Copy the command for your client

Step 7: Ask your first question

Open a new chat with the connection enabled and try one of these. The same questions are listed in the Questions you can ask card, each with a copy button. A question only appears there when the data group it belongs to is ticked.

  • What labels and optional fields are currently shown on my withdrawal form?
  • How many withdrawal requests do I have, grouped by status?
  • Is Withdrawal Forms running, and what plan is this store on?

If you gave the connection Full access, you can also tell it what to do:

  • Change the primary form color to #1a73e8.

Sample questions you can copy

What your assistant can change

With Full access, and only inside the Withdrawal form settings group, the assistant can change:

GroupWhat it can change
Withdrawal form settingsThe wording your customers see: form title and subtitle, widget button, the name, email, order number and items labels, order number help text, the note label and its placeholder, submit and submitting labels, footer text, success title, success body, and the continue shopping label · the primary, background and text colors · whether the subtitle, order number hint, additional note, note placeholder and footer text are shown · the public contact URL

Colors must be a six-digit hex value such as #1a73e8, and the contact URL must be a full address that starts with http:// or https://. Anything else is refused and nothing is saved.

Changing the form needs the Pro plan. Customizing the withdrawal form or the widget is a Pro feature, and Full access does not lift that. On a lower plan the assistant is refused and tells you the Pro plan is required. Reading the form settings, the request statistics and the app status still works on every plan.

After a change is saved, the app updates your storefront form page and pushes the new settings to the storefront. If either of those steps does not go through, the assistant reports it back to you in the same answer.

Withdrawal request statistics and App status are read-only at every access level, and so is everything on the never-shared list. The content of a withdrawal request, your customers' details and your notification settings cannot be read or changed at all.

There is no undo. If a change is not what you wanted, open the app and set the value back yourself.

Check what your assistant has been doing

The Activity history card on the connection page lists the five most recent actions, with the tool that was called and when. It fills up after your assistant uses the connection for the first time.

Change what your assistant can do

Open your connection, change the Access level or the ticks under Step 1: Data scope, then select Save in the bar that appears at the top of the page.

Change the access level or data scope, then save

The change applies to the next request your assistant makes. You do not have to set the connection up again in Claude or ChatGPT.

Turn it off or revoke it

ActionWhat happensReversible
Turn off in Step 2Your assistant stops getting answers immediately. Your server URL and API key stay in place.Yes. When you turn it on again you confirm the access level and data scope once more.
Revoke connection on the connection pageThe API key and every approval for this connection stop working immediately. AI Access is turned off as well.No. You can turn AI Access on again later and confirm a new data scope.

Neither one puts back a setting that was already changed. They stop what happens next.

Tips

  • One connection per store. Each store has a single connection in this app, so there is one server URL and one API key to look after.
  • One connection per app. Avada Withdrawal Form cannot see your Cookie Consent or Order Limit data. Each app has its own URL, its own approval and its own connector.
  • There is a limit on changes. A connection can make 5 changes per minute, and the store can take 30 changes per hour. Questions do not count towards it.
  • Individual requests stay out of reach. The assistant can see how many requests you have, grouped by status or by day, but never a single one of them. Names, emails, order details and the notes your customers write are not available at any access level.
  • Answers are raw data, not advice. What comes back is the settings and the counts the app holds. It is not legal advice and it is not an assessment of your obligations.
