Backup types

Avada Backups & Restore can capture 13 types of store data. When you run a manual backup — or set up your schedule — every type is selected by default. Uncheck any you don't need.

What gets backed up

Data typeWhat it includes
ProductsProducts, variants, images, and product metafields
CollectionsManual and automated collections
CustomersCustomer records and their metafields
OrdersOrder records (backup only — see note below)
ThemesAll theme files: assets, sections, snippets, templates, layouts, locales, and config
PagesStore pages
Blog postsBlogs and their articles
NavigationMenus and links
MetafieldsStore-level and resource metafields
MetaobjectsMetaobject definitions and entries
FilesFiles in your Shopify Files library
PoliciesStore policies (refund, privacy, terms, shipping)
RedirectsURL redirects

⚠️ Orders are backup-only. Avada Backups & Restore captures orders so you have a record, but Shopify does not allow apps to recreate orders, so orders cannot be restored. Every other data type above supports both backup and restore.

Choosing what to back up

  • Back up everything (default) — the safest option, and what we recommend for most stores.
  • Narrow the scope — uncheck types you don't need to save storage or speed up the backup. For example, before a theme edit you might back up Themes only.

The same data types appear when you restore, so you can also back up everything and restore just one type later.
