Preview changes
Before any restore is committed, Avada Backups & Restore runs a preview — a dry run that compares the snapshot against your store as it is right now, so you know exactly what will change before you confirm.
What the preview shows
The preview summarizes the impact across three categories:
| Category | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Will be created | Items in the snapshot that don't exist in your store now — they'll be added |
| Will be updated | Items that exist in both, but differ — they'll be overwritten with the snapshot version |
| Unchanged | Items that already match the snapshot — nothing happens to them |
Expand any data type to see its per-type breakdown, so you can confirm the restore touches what you expect (for example, "42 products will be updated, 3 created").
From preview to restore
- Review the summary and per-type details.
- If it looks right, click Confirm restore.
- Type RESTORE in the confirmation box and click Restore now.

Stale previews
A preview reflects your store at the moment it was generated. If you wait a while before confirming, the app may flag the preview as out of date and ask you to refresh it — this protects you from restoring based on a stale comparison.
💡 The preview is read-only. Nothing in your store changes until you type RESTORE and confirm.
