Full restore
A full restore rolls your store back to a previous snapshot, overwriting the current state with the backup contents. Use it when you need to undo widespread changes — a bad theme deploy, a broken bulk import, or accidental deletions.
⚠️ A restore overwrites your live store data. It can't be undone — but you can have the app take a fresh backup first (see step 3).
Run a full restore
Open a backup
Go to the Backups list and open the snapshot you want to restore, or click Restore from this backup on its detail page.
Choose Full restore
In the restore options, choose Full restore to bring back every data type in the snapshot. (To restore only certain types, see Selective restore.)
Set restore options
Adjust how the restore runs:
- Overwrite existing — replace current records that also exist in the snapshot.
- Restore metafields — include custom metafields.
- Themes — choose to create a new theme from the snapshot (safe, non-destructive) or overwrite the existing theme.
- Back up first — take a fresh snapshot of the current store before restoring, so you have a safety net.
Preview the changes
The app runs a preview (a dry run) showing what will be created, updated, or left unchanged. Review it before committing.
Confirm
To prevent accidents, type RESTORE in the confirmation box, then click Restore now.
Watching progress
You're taken to the restore's detail page, which updates live: a progress bar plus a per–data-type breakdown of items processed, skipped, and failed. You'll also get a notification when the restore completes or fails, if notifications are enabled.
Orders cannot be restored — see Backup types for why.
