How to manage product description in Shopvid
The Products module lets you manage all products tagged in your Shopvid videos, including which videos they appear in and the description customers see when they interact with your products in the video player.
Prerequisites
- Products must already be tagged to at least one video in Shopvid. Products appear in the Products list automatically once tagged.
Steps
Step 1: Go to the Products module
From the Shopvid app, click Products in the left navigation menu. You will see a list of all products currently tagged in your videos.
Step 2: Click Edit on a product
Find the product you want to manage. Click the Edit button in the Action column to open the product detail page.
Step 3: Review the Product Detail page
On the Product Detail page, you can manage two things:
- Attach video(s) — which videos this product is linked to
- Description — the product description customers see in the video
Step 4: Edit the product description
Scroll to the Product information section. In the Description field, enter or update the product description.
- To pull in the existing Shopify description, click Use Shopify description. This will load the description from your Shopify product page.
- To write a custom description, type directly in the Description field (placeholder: Enter product description...).
Step 5: Preview the description
Click Preview to see how the description will appear to customers in the video player before saving.
Step 6: Save your changes
When you are satisfied with the description, click Save to apply the changes.
Step 7: (Optional) Manage attached videos
Still on the Product Detail page, you can also manage which videos this product appears in:
- Click Attach video to link an additional video.
- On any existing attached video, click Unattach to remove the link.
Step 8: (Optional) Attach videos from the Products list
You can also attach videos directly from the Products list without entering the Product Detail page. Click Attach video in the Action column, select your videos in the Attach videos modal, then click Save.
Tips
- Use Use Shopify description for consistency with your Shopify storefront, or write a custom description to tailor the message for video viewers.
- The Sync description button on the Products list page lets you sync descriptions for all products at once.
- Changes to the description only affect what customers see inside the Shopvid video player — your Shopify product page is not modified.
- Products are added to this list automatically when you tag them in a video. You can also use Add products on the Products page to tag products in bulk.
