Connect Claude
Claude reaches your store through a custom connector. Add it once on claude.ai and it works in Claude on web, desktop and mobile with the same account.
Custom connectors need a paid Claude plan. On the free tier the connector cannot be added.
Set it up
The Connect Claude.ai button fills the connector in for you, so this is the quickest one.
Open the MCP page
In the Avada SEO Suite app, click MCP in the left menu.
Start the connection
Under AI assistants, click Connect Claude.ai. A new tab opens on Claude's connector settings with the name and the server URL already filled in — you only have to confirm.
If nothing opens, your browser blocked the pop-up. Allow pop-ups for the Shopify admin and click Connect Claude.ai again.
Sign in with Shopify
Claude sends you to a sign-in page. Sign in to the Shopify store you want it to work on — this is what locks the connection to that one store.
Choose what Claude may do
On the permission screen, tick Allow Claude to make changes to my store if you want it to edit meta tags, create redirects and start optimization runs. Leave it unticked for read-only access. Click Allow.
Check it worked
Back on the MCP page, Claude.ai now shows a Connected badge and its access level. In Claude, start a new chat and ask "Which of my products are missing a meta description?"
Adding it by hand
If you'd rather not use the button: in Claude, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste the MCP server URL from the Setup guide on the MCP page. The rest of the flow is identical.
Change the permission later
Click Reconnect on the MCP page and run through the sign-in again, ticking or unticking the changes permission.
Disconnect
Click the delete icon next to Claude.ai on the MCP page. It loses access straight away. Remove the connector in Claude too, so it stops offering a connection that no longer works.
