Edit Orders from Admin
Avada Order Editing extends the Shopify Order page with the same editing power your customers have, plus a few merchant-only actions. This is useful when:
- A customer emailed in instead of using the self-serve flow.
- The order is past the customer time window but still needs a fix.
- You want to add a note or tag yourself.
Where to find it
Go to Shopify admin → Orders → click any order, then open More actions (top-right of the order) → Avada Order Editing. That launches the app for that order so you can apply edits and the merchant-only actions below.
Actions available
| Action | Notes |
|---|---|
| Edit shipping address | Same form as the customer side. No country change. |
| Add / edit note | Plain text, 1000-char limit. |
| Add / edit tags | Multi-select. Customer-facing flow does not include tags — admin only. |
| Add / remove items | Variant search → adjust quantity. Triggers price diff preview. |
| Cancel order | Same auto-refund + restock behavior as the customer flow. Asks for a reason. |
Price diff preview
Whenever an action changes the order total (adding items, removing items, qty change), we show a Before / After preview:
Subtotal: $80.00 → $112.00
Tax: $ 6.40 → $ 8.96
Total: $86.40 → $120.96 (+$34.56)You confirm or cancel. On confirm, we:
- Charge / refund the difference via the original payment method.
- Update Shopify with the new line items.
- Email the customer (configurable per action).
If the original payment method cannot capture extra charge (e.g. some manual gateways), we block the increase total action and show why.
Activity log
Every admin-side edit also lands on the Activity page, tagged with Source: admin so you can tell apart customer-driven and merchant-driven changes.
