FAQ
Is the app free?
Yes. There is no billing or subscription in the app today, so every store runs it free. There is no confirmed date for a paid tier yet.
Does this work on the legacy customer accounts?
Yes. The block sits on the Thank you and Order status pages, which exist in both classic and the new customer accounts. You only need to add it to one of them.
Where do I add the widget, the theme editor or the checkout editor?
The checkout editor: Shopify Settings, Checkout, Customize. The block is a checkout UI extension, so it will not appear under Online Store, Themes. See the Quick Start.
Is there a master on and off switch?
No. The app is live once the widget is on your order pages and at least one customer action is on. To take it out of service, either turn every action off in Editing rules, which hides the card entirely, or remove the block in the checkout editor.
Can a customer change country in the address?
Yes, if you allow it. The Country or region field is locked by default, so out of the box customers can change every field except country. Unlock it in the Edit shipping address panel and the app recalculates shipping for the new destination and settles the difference. See Change country.
What happens if the customer hits the time window mid-edit?
If the order is past the time window when they hit Save, the save is rejected with a short message. Their typed values stay in the form, but they cannot persist them.
Can I edit my own emails and templates?
Yes. Every notification email, five customer and two staff, has a Customize button in Email notifications, where you edit the subject, heading, body, button label, and accent colour, with a live preview. They are not fixed templates.
Can I refund to store credit instead of the card?
Yes. Set Refund destination to Store credit in Editing rules. It applies to every refund the app makes, including cancellations, and you can give the credit an expiry plus a reminder email.
Multi-language?
The widget ships in English only, and every other language comes from the Translations panel, where you translate all 189 customer-facing strings per language. Empty fields fall back to English. An Auto translate button is available on request if you want a machine pass to start from.
Does the widget slow down my order pages?
The block is lazy-loaded, only when the page is visible. Lighthouse performance on a typical order status page is unchanged within about two points.
Is this GDPR compliant?
Yes. We respond to Shopify's three GDPR webhooks, customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact, and purge data on Shopify's required schedule. See the Privacy Policy.
What if the customer's order is paid with a gift card?
Refunds on cancel return funds the same way Shopify splits them: the gift card portion to the gift card, the payment-method portion to the original card.
Does Luna Order Editing work with Shopify Flow?
Not yet. There is no first-class Flow trigger, and the app does not tag orders on edit or cancel, so there is no auto-tag to drive Flow from today.
