General
Is the app really free?
Yes. There are no tiers, no feature locks, no per-affiliate fees. We may introduce a Pro plan in the future, but the current free tier will remain. See Pricing.
Which Shopify plans does it work with?
All of them — Basic Shopify, Shopify, Advanced, Shopify Plus. We use standard Shopify APIs that every plan has.
Does it work on Shopify Checkout Extensibility?
Yes. We use a Custom Web Pixel that runs in Shopify's sandboxed pixel environment — fully compatible with Checkout Extensibility.
Can I run multiple affiliate programs at once?
Yes. Create as many programs as you need — different rates for different groups (influencers, friends, team members, etc.).
Setup
How long does setup take?
Most merchants are live in under 15 minutes. See Quick Start.
Do I need to modify my theme?
Optional. The Web Pixel alone handles most stores. The Theme Extension improves coverage on custom themes.
Why isn't my pixel tracking?
Check: (1) pixel is connected in Shopify → Settings → Customer events; (2) the customer didn't block cookies; (3) the ?affily_ref= param was actually on the URL. See Troubleshooting.
Affiliates
How do affiliates sign up?
Two ways: you add them manually from the Affiliates page, or you share the Portal Signup Link from your Home dashboard and they self-register.
Can I auto-approve new affiliates?
Not currently. All public signups land in Pending status and need manual approval — a safety feature to prevent fraud. Affiliates you add manually from the Affiliates page are created Active automatically and skip approval.
Can affiliates recruit sub-affiliates?
No multi-level (MLM) support today. Every affiliate works directly with the merchant.
What if an affiliate forgets their password?
They use Forgot password? on the login page. A reset link is emailed within a minute. See Registration & Login.
Tracking & Commission
What query parameter do referral links use?
?affily_ref=. Example: https://store.com?affily_ref=AFF-ABC123.
How long do referral cookies last?
Default 30 days. You can change this in Settings → Tracking Duration (1–365 days).
What happens if a customer clicks two different affiliates' links?
Last click wins. The most recent click's code overwrites older ones in the cookie.
What if a customer uses a coupon from a different affiliate than the link they clicked?
Coupon wins. Coupon tracking takes priority over referral links. See Coupon Code Tracking.
Is commission calculated on the total or subtotal?
Subtotal — line item prices after discounts, before tax and shipping. See Commission Calculation.
What happens when an order is refunded?
Commission is adjusted automatically. Partial refunds reduce commission proportionally (percentage programs) or when fully refunded (flat programs). See Refund Handling.
Payouts
How do I actually send money to affiliates?
You pay through your own channel (PayPal, bank, etc.) outside the app, then use Mark as Paid to record it. The app does not move money.
Can I set up automatic payouts?
Not today. All payouts are manual — one click per affiliate, per cycle. See Payment Schedule for reminder emails.
Is there a minimum payout amount?
Yes — default $50. Configurable in Payment Schedule.
What if an order is refunded after I already paid the commission?
A Refund adjustment row is created with a negative amount. The app automatically deducts that amount from the affiliate's next payout — you do not need to chase the affiliate. See Refund Handling.
Data & Privacy
Where is the data stored?
Firebase (Google Cloud Platform), in the us-central1 region. See Privacy Policy.
Is customer data shared with affiliates?
No. Affiliates see their own earnings, not customer names/emails/addresses. Only the merchant sees customer identifiers.
Is the app GDPR-compliant?
Yes — we process data on your behalf as a data processor. Uninstalling the app triggers a 48-hour data deletion per GDPR requirements.
Can I export all my data?
Partial export is possible via support. A full self-service export is on the roadmap.
